Acting Royalty – Sir Ian McKellen at the RSC

I was recently lucky enough to photograph stage and screen legend Sir Ian McKellen at the after show party for the press night of the Royal Shakespeare Company production of Marlowe’s Edward II.

Sir Ian, who himself has previously played Edward II, mixed with cast and creatives including Daniel Evans, Co-Artistic Director of the RSC who has the title role in the current production.

It was a memorable evening in particular for the 3 young actors playing Prince Edward who received a crown wearing masterclass from acting royalty!

Edward II is at The Swan Theatre , Stratford-upon-Avon until 5 April 2025.
