Corporate Portraits.

There is nothing like a bit of boardroom pressure to keep a photographer on his toes.

I was recently commissioned to photograph the refurbished offices of Arval in Solihull, as well as interior and exterior shots I was also there to cover the official opening by the company CEO who had flown in from France for the occasion.

As the board were all gathered in one place it was a good opportunity to get new portraits of them all, the catch was that they didn’t have a lot of time and I would have to take the pictures unposed during an impromptu board meeting..no pressure then.

‘Just pretend I am not here’ my instructions as I started to work my way around the room. Fortunately my subjects were having quite an animated discussion so there were plenty of hand gestures and facial expressions (and a well placed banner for a bit of subtle branding).

Often with corporate portraits I mock up this kind of informal photograph alongside the more formal ones, however on this occasion it was genuinely candid and I was able to use my reportage/photo journalism skills to get some great results.
