NFU Conference 2014.

It was all change at the top at this year’s National Farmers Union Conference which took place recently at the ICC in Birmingham.

Peter Kendall who has been the NFU President for the past 8 years stood down and his Deputy Meurig Raymond won the members vote to succeed him. While this wasn’t entirely unexpected the choice of Minette Batters as Deputy President made the farming headlines.

West Country farmer Minette is now the most powerful women in British Farming, becoming the first female in the Union’s 105 year history to be elected to such a senior position.

This is the fifth year running that I have worked as the NFU’s official photographer and it’s fair to say that the 2014 conference was one of the busiest I have covered. Photographing all of the delegates, speakers and photocalls and continually uploading them to the NFU website’s live feed, providing the images for a special conference edition of the NFU’s British Farmer and Grower magazine and supplying images on request to regional, national and international newspapers, magazines and websites.
