Aldi Portraits.

Last year I was commissioned to take some portraits of one of Aldi’s two General Managers, Matthew Barnes, at the supermarket chain’s HQ in Nuneaton. Apparently he really liked the pictures and remembered me this year when they needed some new editorial style pictures of Matthew and his fellow General Manager Roman Heini.

The pictures were required to accompany the release of the company’s annual figures and needed to show the two GMs on location in one of Aldi’s Midlands stores.

Part of my commission was to conduct preliminary test shoots at both the Leamington Spa and Stratford Upon Avon stores. After much consideration the Stratford Upon Avon store was chosen and early one morning in September , before the store opened, I met up with my subjects.

The subsequent pictures were featured in many national newspaper’s financial sections including the Guardian and the Daily Telegraph.
