The Centenary Chorus at The Royal Albert Hall.

Earlier this year I wrote a blog about how I had been photographing the rehearsals for an exciting project involving young choirs from all over the UK and Europe.

To recap, Worcestershire based Sing UK were organising a special concert at The Royal Albert Hall to mark the 100th Anniversary of the First World War. The Centenary Chorus  features 600 singers performing ‘The Armed Man’ by Karl Jenkins, with the Philharmonia Orchestra. The first time that the whole choir would get together would be on the day of the concert on the 28th September.

After being involved for the last 6 months travelling up and down the country photographing the rehearsals and workshops, It was fantastic to finally be at The Royal Albert Hall last week for the long awaited performance.

Hearing and seeing the whole of the 600 strong Chorus combined with the Philharmonia Orchestra in that spectacular venue was quite something.

To round off a wonderful performance the composer Karl Jenkins himself came onto the stage and added his own applause to the standing ovation.
